chosen to visit our community, which is located in Northwestern Kentucky
along the Ohio River. Breckinridge County was formed on January 1,
1800 from Hardin County. Prior to 1800, records for this area would be
found in Hardin County. The county was named for Attorney General John
Breckinridge. Meade County was formed out of eastern Breckinridge County
in 1824, later Hancock county was formed out of Breckinridge's western
border in 1829. Here are Breckinridge County's bordering
neighbors: Perry Co., IN; Meade Co., KY; Hardin Co., KY; Grayson Co.,
KY; Ohio Co., KY; and Hancock Co., KY.
