County is located in western Kentucky, between Owensboro and Bowling
Green, Kentucky, with the William H. Natcher Parkway connecting the
community to both cities. The Western Kentucky Parkway crosses the
William H. Natcher Parkway in the county near Beaver Dam giving the
county one of the best ground transportation networks in Kentucky.
Ohio County has a weekend bluegrass music
event in Rosine, which is the birthplace of Bill Monroe, the father of
bluegrass music. In addition. the community of McHenry has one of the
fastest dirt stock car tracks in Western Kentucky. The Ohio County
Country Club has a 9-hole golf course adjacent to the 350 acre county
park. The park affords horse shows, miniature golf, driving range,
county fair, and several music events each year.
